Virtual Machine Memory and Hard Drive Configuration

  1. Shut down guest VM.
  2. Right click the VM and select Edit Settings.
  3. Select Memory in Hardware tab.
  4. Change the Memory Size in Memory Configuration.  If this area is grayed-out,  check if the VM is completely shut down.
  5. Select Hard Disk.
  6. Change the Provisioned Size in disk Provisioning.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Power on guest VM and logon.
  9. Verify memory has changed.
  10. Verify hard disk in Disk Management.
  11. You will see Unallocated partition.
  12. Here you can merge the unallocated volume to your active volume by right clicking the active volume and select Extend Volume.
